JOCELYNE PRINCE – Dust Stencils

2011 Jocelyne Princes second visit to Rejmyre in 2011, was an investigation into the Historical Societys archive of patterns that where engraved into crystal glass in the 1800’s. “Röda Blommor” was carried out as a performance in the glass factory and as an intervention in the streets of Rejmyre, using glas dust and a stencil. Jocelyne Prince grew up in Winnipeg, Canada. She is a professor in the Glass Department at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design, USA) where she also did her MFA in glass. She was a visiting artist at the Toyama Institute of Glass Art in Toyama, Japan, in 2004; taught at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax in the summer of 2002; was an adjunct assistant professor of visual art at Brown University in 2001-02, and adjunct assistant professor in sculpture at the Maine College of Art the previous year. She has also taught at the Bild-Werk Academy in Frauenau, Germany, and the Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, WA. Jocelyne Prince lives in Providence, USA.
